Old Poems

I did this photography project a couple of years ago. I pasted the photographs on photographic background paper I had made. I sold the actual project but I still have the photographs and poems, so I thought I would post them.

This is a photograph I took at the Great Wall in China.
Into the Light

As note once played
So are men fated to fade
Like spider’s lace
Our brilliance holds a fleeting place

Individuals become lost to sight
But humanity will not cross into the light
Our hold on time’s hand is tenuous
But our orbed echos remain luminous

Every man’s existence is vapor
A diaphanous vesper
But our legacy is not quellable
Our imprints will remain indelible

Into the light series of photographs
Into the Light

When the black hounds of night

Enter into the blinding light

The lurking shadows of fear

Are finally burned clear

Into the light

Footprints on the pavement black
Leading those who would not look back
Footprints in the dead of night
Follow the shadows into the light

Into the light

Startled into panicked flight
A grey winged kite
Explodes into the protective light

Into the light

Past the guardian of the hedge
A swaying sentinel on heaven’s edge
I glimpse the ethereal delight
Only seen gazing into the light

Ghost dancer clothed in white
Whirl and swirl into the light
Whether spirit, spector, shade or shadow
Twirl to an heavenly tempo

Into the light

Descend from on darkened height
Into dreams of sacred light
Transcend the deepest doldrum
Into doors of inspiration

Fly into the flaring light
