Well there were some highs and lows for the Lazy Daze Show on Saturday. The low being I didn’t sell much, but the highs definitely over shadowed that fact. To my great surprise and joy I won a Jerry Miller Artist Award! There were only six given out for the show and they are the equivalent of a best in show for your category. I won in the category of mixed media/painting.
We were awarded our ribbons on the main stage of the festival by the local television anchor and Jerry Miller himself.
This public recognition was succeeded by the “offical town crier” stopping by our booth and shouting to the surrounding public how great we were. While that was slightly embarrassing, it was also very flattering.
There were many many great artists at this show. So to be chosen from among them is a great honor. I couldn’t stop smiling the rest of the day!
As for the rest of the show…It was a beautiful day. I think it was my first pretty show of the year. At least that is what it feels like. We have had so much rain this summer. But it was temperate (for August in NC), there were so many people I couldn’t stand in front of my booth and many friends stopped to say hi. The crowd was also really pleasant. Everyone was friendly, appreciative and interested. So thanks to everyone who stopped by!
…I got an award!!! Whoooo!!!!!! ehmm. Very unprofessional, I apologize.
