Well this weekend I had my first Blowing Rock show for the year. It was not a great show, but I did sell quite a few prints so it wasn’t a total loss. Plus it didn’t rain!! There wasn’t even a chance of rain! So that was fantastic.
We stayed with friends for the show and were able to actually enjoy the mountains and not just work all weekend! We hiked, enjoyed BBQ and I was able to take some pictures. We were at Price Lake for Sunset on Saturday. Needless to say it was beautiful. We watched the sky go from blue to bright yellow and then darken to purple all while swifts were flying and darting over the water.
The biggest surprise however was the appearance of this guy!
I was down by the water climbing over rocks and trying not to fall in when he rounded the corner. I couldn’t believe it. I have been trying for years to get a good picture of the beavers that live in the pond at home. Apparently I just needed to go somewhere else:) He must be really used to people because he walked up on the bank to eat grass and clover and really had no problem with me following him around and snapping endlessly. So over all not a very profitable weekend but thoroughly enjoyable!
Sometimes its not the money that’s the profit 😉
I would have been stoked about the beaver too!
