Off to Ohio.

Well I went to Ohio for a few days for this holiday weekend. I was able to visit a little of Amish country as well as stick my toes into Lake Erie. I have never seen a great lake, so I was pretty excited about that little excursion.

It looked like the ocean, except the waves were smaller, the water was fresh and the beach consisted of small flat rocks worn down from  their time in the great natural rock tumbler. While the water itself was impressive, I must confess I enjoyed walking along the beach and picking up neat looking rocks the most. The Lake also awoke that part of me that wishes it lived near a larger body of water, one that washed up interesting natural tidbits that I could collect every morning and create art with every afternoon. But I was glad to come home and see my own little lake and studio. Nothing like going somewhere else to make you appreciate what you have.

    1. Thanks, the zebra/donkey was funny. He kept tilting his head and sticking it all the way through the bars, but he couldn’t quite turn in all the way straight once he got through. He kept trying to bite Jake’s coat:)
